Some Finished Earrings

I eventually got my seeds home, dried them, and started to figure out what i was going to do with them. First thing being (of course) to make them look pretty by painting them different colours, and finding a cool box to keep them organised in.

Voila!

woop, organisation 😀

After that, I just started playing around with different colours, shapes and mixing it around.

These are what I have made so far..

Melon Seeeeeeeeeds

So.. I started making this type of jewelry probably about 2 months ago. It stared when I visited my friend in London and we went to Camden Market. Walking round it, I saw so many things that I wanted to buy! But I am a complete cheap skate, and looking at them properly figured I could probably make most of it, therefore not have to buy it.

My favourite things I saw were an oil burner made from a pepper, some leather bound books, painted light bulbs, and jewelry made from parts of fruit and flowers.

Anyway, I forgot about it for a while after that, until I was camping with a group of friends. One of my friends brought out of his tent, 3 melons. I leapt up and enthusiastically asked if I could have all the seeds.

They all obviously thought I was a bit odd, but humoured me, and let me scrape all the seeds and stickyness into a bottle to take home with me. And there began the beginnings of making  jewelry!!
